Christine Valentini Biography Born in Vienna, Austria, Christine emigrated to Canada in 1964. Her European education had a strong influence on her artistic ability. She has participated actively in cultural and artistic life wherever and whenever possible: her interest in art and frawing led to attending classes at Agincourt Collegiate under Reimer Reinke for three years and at Wexford Art Centre for 2-1/2 years. Subsequently, workshops on monoprinting, drawing and watercolour added to her education. Encouraged by the beautiful countryside in Haliburton many of her works are executed as detailed watercolour landscapes and florals. She has worked in all media over the years but prefers watercolour, monoprints, mixed media, india ink and sculpture. Painting trips have taken Christine to Europe, the United States, eastern and western Canada, leaving northern Canada yet to be explored. She has paticipated in numerous public and juried art exhibitions in Canada and her paintings have won many awards of excellence. Her works are included in private collections in Europe, Japan, the United States and Canada. Associate memberships: Visual Arts Ontario, The Arts Council of Scarborough, The Art Guild of Scarborough and the Society of York Region Artists. |
